Blue Banded Honey Bee

Blue Banded Honey Bee (  Amegilla cingulata )

Blue banded honey bees are also very similar to common yellow honey bee as in size and  other aspects but basic different is that  Blue-banded Bees are covered with golden hairs and abdomen is banded with pale blue bands on black.

Blue banded bees can sting but they are very placid creatures, and will tolerate very close inspection. Attempting to catch or hold one could be another matter.

Female blue banded bees build their nests underground, but males don’t build nests. They roost for the night clinging to plant stems, and are often observed sitting in a line along the same stem.

Unlike honey bees, blue-banded bees are capable of hovering, which one would assume makes them easier to photograph. This couldn’t be further from the truth, and taking a clear photograph of a blue banded bee in flight is reason for celebration.

The Common Blue-banded Bee is found throughout most of Australia but is not known in Tasmania or the Northern Territory.but they are also common in south Asian countries as well ( this picture was taken in Sri Lanka )

Divided we fall united we Stand

Fun facts about ants is that they can lift 20 times its own weight. Ant colonies are controlled by a queen ant and there are soldiers and workers, ants can track their own trails for miles and there are more than 10,000 species of ants all over the world. But one of the most important thing about ants is their unity and bond, they always joined as a whole. This is one thing that humans can learn from ants “Divided we fall united we stand” its like the only thing that ants are following. On the other hand this will limit the creative and free thinking because if we all act like ants and doing only the things we told to do then humans will never invent the massive structures and complex technologies in past and humans will never evolve like this. I believe humans are free thinkers and always curious about their surroundings and this lead them to invent and explore, but still we have to admire the unity and the workmanship that ants have.
