Canon announced 5Dmark iii way back in 2012 and they released it on the same year  and its now been a lengthy cycle without an update for the 5D series , so most probably there will be a 5D mark iv in early 2015 to replace this full frame giant from canon . Canon 5D mark iii and Canon 1Dx both p ro level cameras from Canon  are more likely to be replaced in 2015 , 5D mark iii which was introduced in 2012 is to be replaced first and the 1Dx will soon follow which was introduced on 2013 , both cameras will have the new advanced sensor technology.
